Sugar depilation is better known as shugaring(banding or manual technique). This is a completely natural method of hair removal that can be done at home with just three simple ingredients: sugar, lemon juice and water. Like regular depilation, shugaring lasts a little longer than shaving, but has some advantages over the wax method:
- Sugar is easily and quickly dissolved in water, which is very good for sensitive skin.
- Sugar depilation techniques are also considered more hygienic.
Preparation for shugaring: what is needed?
To prepare the skin for depilation you will needscrub lotion for cleaning and degreasing the skin, as well as talc without fragrance. For the depilation itself you need sugar paste, gloves, paper strips, a spatula. After the procedure, it is recommended to cleanse the skin with thermal water, then apply a soothing and moisturizing lotion or cream.
Shugaring techniques
There are several techniques for suchprocedures like shugaring: bandage technique (using depilatory strips) and manual (performed manually, without the use of additional devices). Depending on the technology, pastes of different density are selected. For bandage technology, soft paste is used, for manual - thick. Paste can be heated or stretched by hand, and then applied to the desired area against the direction of hair growth, and removed by growth.
Shugaring: banding equipment
The big advantage of bandage technology shugaringBefore other methods of hair removal is the absence of strong pain during the procedure. Over time, it becomes less ingrown hair. After the procedure, the skin is soft and smooth. There are no red spots and signs of irritation. Such a brilliant result persists for a long time, as a rule, it is 3-4 weeks.
Start of procedure
one. Before the depilation procedure, the skin needs to be cleaned and degreased. To do this, use a special lotion, for example, with mint and birch extract. Birch extract has a disinfectant effect and prevents inflammation. The lotion can be sprayed onto the skin with a spray bottle and evenly distributed over the body with your hands. Spray excess lotion with a paper towel.
2 Purified and dried skin should be treated with talcum powder. It is better to choose the powder without extra additives and fragrances, it is advisable not to use baby talc, as there are often added fragrances and soothing agents. With it, the skin will not sticky, and the hair will be better and stronger to cling to the paste.

Banding and manual technique of shugaringslightly, but different from each other. The manual method involves the use of a paste of good density, which is applied by hand. The mass, previously heated to forty degrees (at the same time, it becomes viscous, like honey) is applied with fingers to the surface against the growth of hair. The mixture is distributed evenly and remains for a few seconds for better fixation. Then you need to carefully unscrew the edge of the slightly cooled paste and sharply tear off in the direction of hair growth.
