The Golitsyn trail at the very beginning is quite narrow. In this area, it is laid between a cliff on one side and a steep cliff on the other. Here the route is equipped with concrete bumpers and railings for the safety of tourists.

First stop: Golitsyn Grotto

The first attraction on the trail is the grotto.Golitsyn (or Shalyapin, as he is called). A narrow path leads directly to this object. In the grotto Prince Golitsyn were equipped with wine cellars. To this day, niches (in the form of hollowed-out arches) have been preserved in the walls, in which exclusive bottles of wine lay. There is also a well in the grotto. Now it is dry, but at the time of Golitsyn there was water in it.

The grotto itself is a small cavity in the coastalthe rock formed by natural means (blows of sea waves). Its height does not exceed thirty meters, and its width is about 18 meters. Archaeologists have found that in the era of the Middle Ages there was located a cave Orthodox monastery. Ancient wall paintings could be seen at the end of the XIX century. Later, Prince Golitsyn set up his own wine room.

The grotto is also often called Shalyapinsky. In the depths of the rocky cavity, you can really see an improvised stone scene. According to some sources, the famous singer Fyodor Shalyapin once performed on it. And from his powerful voice, as legend has it, even broke a glass of wine. It is difficult to argue that everything was just that, and that the talented performer visited the New World altogether. Maybe this is just a legend. Nevertheless, musical concerts in the grotto of Chaliapin sometimes held today. The acoustics of this cave are simply superb!

Second stop: Cape Kapchik

After the grotto of Chaliapin, the Golitsyn trail, along the southernKoba-Kaya slope leads the traveler to the shores of the Blue Bay. She is also known as the Robber, as in the times of ancient Greece, pirate ships hid here. From the west, the Blue Bay is bordered by Cape Kapchik, where the route leads further.

At the same time, it separates the Blue and Blue coves. Cape Kapchik - it is nothing like an ancient coral reef. With its silhouette, it resembles a giant stone lizard.

The outlines of the cape are very recognizable by many tourists. After all, Kapchik "starred" in a number of Soviet feature films. These are "Pirates of the twentieth century", "Amphibian Man", "Treasure Island" and many others. Here was the camp of the main characters of the popular movie "Sportloto-82".
