About the theater

The Baikal Theater is a professional team,who has many years of experience. It was created in 1939. The theater is the keeper of the multifaceted culture of the Mongol and Buryats. His performances and concerts are bright spectacles. The troupe is one of the leading creative teams of our country. In the theater there are ten vocalists, thirty ballet dancers, an orchestra of folk Buryat instruments.

In the repertoire of "Baikal" - ethno-ballets, operas, musical-choreographic performances, the stories of which are taken from the legends and myths of the peoples of Buryatia and Mongolia, concerts.

Artists of the theater are regular participants of various festivals and competitions. Often they are rewarded. The performances of the collective are very popular with the audience.

The theater has won awards in the festivals "Fashion of the Mongols of the World", "Altargana-2006", "Golden Heart" and so on.

Also "Baikal" took part in the All-Russianthe project "Songs of Russia". This festival is held under the patronage of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir V. Putin. The team received an honorary letter from the head of the project - Nadezhda Babkina. For the performance "Spirit of ancestors" Baikal was awarded a government prize in the field of art and culture.

The ballet troupe participated in the TV project, which was conducted by the channel "Culture", where the best choreographic collectives of our country performed.

The director of the theater today is Dandar Badluev. He was born in a small village Dalahay. He graduated from the East-Siberian Institute of Culture in the specialty "Directing Mass Spectators." He organized the ensemble "Lotus", which specialized in oriental dances. Soon the collective was transformed into a theater and was named "Badma Saseg". Soon it became popular both in our country and far beyond its borders. Theater "Baikal" Dandar Badluev headed in 2005. His name can be found in the encyclopedia under the title "The Best People of Russia". He is a member of the association of choreographers of Buryatia and folklore art. Dandar is a dancer, teacher and director. He became a laureate of the All-Russian Contest among choreographers.

Dandar Badluev is a specialist in Mongolian,ballroom, classical Indian and other dances. For his creative life he managed to create a large number of choreographic performances and colorful numbers. D. Badluev - winner of the contest of designers. Costumes for his productions he creates himself. Repeatedly the choreographer conducted master classes and staged performances in other countries, including the USA, India, China, Thailand, France. Dandar is the creator and leader of the dance school for children. He was engaged in vocals and, among other things, is the performer of folk Buryat songs.
