History

In 1968 he acquired his own musical comedy. Engels. The operetta theater was built by the decision of the regional executive committee of the Saratov region. He was given a building, where previously housed the House of Culture. In August 1968, the theater began to prepare its repertoire. The first performance of the musical comedy of the city of Engels was called "Let's be acquainted, dear fellow countrymen!". The troupe was assembled from young graduates of theatrical educational institutions. The post of the main director then was occupied by G.Keller - the honored worker of arts. E. Neumann was appointed to the post of director. For the years of its existence, the operetta theater (Engels) has staged more than a hundred performances. 54 of them were created for young spectators. The troupe often tours the country and performs at the best stages of Murmansk, Moscow, Kaluga, Sevastopol, Volgograd, Ryazan, Novgorod, etc.

Today, the theater is headed by Alexander Gornov. He bears the honorary title of Honored Worker of Culture. The main director of the theater is Dmitry Leontiev. Among the soloists there are actors who are awarded the title of "Honored Artist of Russia". The main choreographer of the theater is Vladimir Lomakin.
