Shark-house - an elusive monster
The underwater kingdom is rich in amazingcreatures, which often cause horror by their appearance and habits. Among such fear-inspiring inhabitants of the depths is the shark-house, which is also referred to as the "goblin" or "gargoyle". The first time it was discovered in the sea bowels one hundred and ten years ago. In Japan, in the area of the sea basin near Yokohama, fishermen caught a strange creature one hundred and six centimeters long. This male struck people with a peculiar kind, which does not resemble any of the fish known at the time. He was called "tengu-replacement" or "house" (translated from Japanese). At the same time, for the first time, the marine monster was given the Latin name Mitsukurina owstoni, under which it is known in the writings of scientists and experts in the study of marine animals and fish.
The shark-house (photo) has a heavy massivetrunk, long tail on tail, snout elongated and flattened, wedge-shaped from lateral view. The retractable type of jaw is provided with needle-like sharp teeth. Anal fin considerably larger than dorsal. When the jaw protrudes forward, it resembles a beak. The small bead-like eyes are black, the trunk covers the transparent skin, through it you can see the blood system - the vessels. For quite some time professionals engaged in studying a creature such as a shark-house, were convinced that the color of her body is exceptionally dull with brown and gray hues. However, in the 76th year of the last century the Japanese specialists made and uploaded a photo of a dead shark of this species in the media. The image clearly shows the pink body tones, fins with a blue edging.
For many years the shark-house worn itsname due to the inability to be discovered and caught. In general, for the period up to the third year of this century, only forty-five successful shots of the shark are known. It was even brought to the pages of the Red Book as a rare species. But unexpectedly in April of the same year, near the shores of the island of Taiwan, one hundred specimens of this little-studied fish were caught. The catch consisted mainly of males, which fell into the network, being at a depth of about six hundred meters. Of particular value were the jaws of sharks, which were soon sold for a lot of money (several thousand dollars). At present, the average size of the male's body is known, while the female's body length remains a mystery.
Presumably, a shark-house (female) is capable ofgrow up to six meters long, it is somewhat larger than the male. It should be noted that at present there is no exact data on the female fish, since the pregnant females have never found themselves in the networks of fishers. An additional study requires a way to reproduce these sharks, because scientists only put forward certain assumptions, which are not sufficiently supported by reliable facts. There is a version that such fish reproduce by the way of egg formation in the abdominal cavity of females, after which the young grows and is born. According to many scientists, robust babies still inside the mother destroy weak individuals, which explains the birth of a small number of strong fish. Experts are working to identify which sharks are found in the Black Sea. In particular, the habitat forms a certain species. Known are such samples as the Scylla (cat shark), Katran and the prickly shark.
